With covid cases dropping, 59% of citizens are planning to travel during March-May. Another 29% said they have plans to travel during these 3 months but have not booked tickets or accommodation yet and will only decide close to travel date.
Of those who plan to travel in March-May are likely to visit family/friends and undertake other miscellaneous travel (non-holiday destination travel). With no restrictions in domestic travel, Indians have begun traveling again. Experts, however, caution that citizens must still follow the safety protocols.
Apart from this regular international flights are likely to resume operations from March 15, after remaining suspended for nearly two years. Countries too are opening up and making the travel restriction easy. Also, the countries listed in the ‘at risk’ category have been removed.
